Bonny Light is one of Nigeria's flagship export grades. Nigerian crudes are generally medium-to-light and low in sulfur, so they trade at or near Brent and compete mainly with other West African and Atlantic Basin light sweet grades.
Nigeria's downstream sector includes the legacy state refineries (Port Harcourt, Warri, Kaduna) and the large private Dangote refinery near Lagos, alongside the Nigeria LNG plant on Bonny Island and an expanding gas pipeline system.

Reserves figures follow the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA); Nigeria's regulator NUPRC reported 37.28 billion barrels of oil and condensate as of 1 January 2025. Crude benchmark prices update every five minutes from the World Oil Map live market feed.
